People need answers!

The Lord gives me many opportunities each week to share the Gospel. Most of the time these doors open during conversations when people need answers for problems they face. You might assume that these people are all Christians. That is not the case… many are people that do not profess Christ nor do they attend church. So when I say opportunities I mean just that! So what do I do? I turn to God’s Word! They listen as I share the Good News of the Gospel and how it applies to their lives! Recently someone sent me these words from Ravi Zacharias, “Do not underestimate the role you may play in clearing obstacles in someone’s spiritual journey. A seed sown here, a light shone there may be all that is needed to move the seeker or skeptic one step further.” Think about what I am saying here. As a Christian, be prepared to answer people’s questions! They need your help, but most of all they need hope! The Apostle Peter put it this way in 1 Peter 3:15 “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.”

In our Sunday Evening Worship Service our special guests will be Clay and Danielle Gibbons. They are our missionaries to Britain (UK). Clay and Danielle have faithfully pursued God’s will for their family. They have their support and the proper papers and are leaving for their field within a short period of time. Your presence here Sunday evening at 5:30PM would bless their family! Plan to be here in the service. We have some special music planned as well… don’t miss it!

Remember there is no Wednesday evening dinner scheduled. We will have Pot Luck dinners once a month through June, July and August. Our Wednesday evening dinners will resume in September. Our Wednesday Pot Luck dinners provide a great time of fellowship… please join us. The dates are listed on our bulletin tab!

God bless you… see you tonight for Bible study at 6:30PM.

Christ Above All!

PRAY!

Yesterday (Thursday, May 4) was our National Day of Prayer. Prayer is a vital lifeline for every child of God. Silence is golden except when it comes to prayer! Scripture often describes prayer as “crying out” to God. Prayer is also characterized as “humbling yourself before the Lord.” Prayer in the lives of God’s people is also connected to experiencing “the presence of God.” Yes, prayer is a vital lifeline for each of us as Christians. Daniel prayed morning, noon and night. With this practice, Daniel was following King David. Psalm 55:17 says, Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and He shall hear my voice. Daniel is a powerful example of how prayer comforts and sustains us in the hour crisis! Are you in the “lion’s den” today? If so, cry out to the Lord, humble yourself before Him, seek His presence and pray! And then, expect deliverance! Daniel 6:21-22 says, Then said Daniel unto the king (Darius), O king, live forever. 22 My God hath sent His angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt. Praise the Lord our God still answers prayer!

Thank you for your faithfulness to the Lord! I thank the Lord for you! What a great joy it is to pastor such a loving group of people. Jesus said that men would know His disciples by the love they have for each other… this is true at Grace Church. This past Wednesday evening there was such a sweet spirit of fellowship at the church. Most Wednesdays I leave church around 8:00PM and take dinner over to DR and Phyllis Daniels. This gives me a few minutes to reflect on my GYMTime Men’s Bible study and my fellowship with the church family! There is no doubt; this is one of my favorite times of the week! Thank you again for being the body of Christ… it brings glory to His Name!

This Sunday we will serve the Lord’s Supper. Jesus instructed us to serve this “Supper” in remembrance of what He has done for us in redemption. Jesus said, “This do ye in remembrance of Me.” As His body, as the church He loved and gave Himself for, we will obey His command! Every member should be present. Do your best to be in your place, and let’s remember and reflect upon the salvation we have in Christ!
